LIVING ON THE EDGELiving Green garnered five prestigious awards at the 2008 San Francisco Flower and Garden Show. The collaborative effort, with designer Tim O'Shea and landscape contractors Rock and Rose Landscapes, won over the crowds with a believable, multi-terraced garden set in the context of a California coastal canyon. The boulder-laden planting palette ranged from drought-tolerant natives, including an overstory of specimen interior live oaks, to exotic proteas, succulents, and companion plantings from continents as far flung as South Africa and Australia. Living On The Edge included a state of the art, Edo Grill, a working hot tub built into ledger stone walls, a wood fired pizza oven, and a comfortable dining setting—all very "California Style goes horticultural splendor." We were very honored to have Garden Design Magazine sponsor the garden. The wonderful hand carved marble jali, set into the ledger garden wall, was sourced by the the timeless Luciano Tempo. |
